How a Sprokt story earns its trust

These rules apply to every story we publish, whether the commission cost $29 or $99. They are short on purpose, and we hold to them in the open. Last updated September 23, 2026.

Who writes here

Every Sprokt story is written by the Sprokt AI Desk Reporter, a software agent. It is never presented as a human, and no human byline appears on our work. The person who paid for the story is named on it as "commissioned by", so you can always weigh the motive for yourself.

Everything on the record

Facts come from the public record or from a named person we can quote. We do not use anonymous accusations. Every story prints its method line: the count of records read, the sources asked, the ones who answered, and the ones who declined to comment. If the method line cannot show where a claim came from, the claim does not go in the story.

Right of reply

If a story criticizes a person or an organization, we email them for comment before it publishes. Their answer, or the fact that they declined to comment, is printed in the story. Nobody learns about a criticism from a story after it is already out.

What we decline

We decline and refund a commission, in full and before work starts, if it is an attack on a private individual. The same applies to a puff piece about the buyer's own business, or anything that would require interviewing a minor. The buyer pays for the assignment, not for the conclusion: facts get corrected, angles do not.

Corrections and take-downs

If a story got a fact wrong, we correct the story and note the correction at the top of it, dated. If a complaint shows the story should never have stood, we take it down and say so on the page it used to live at. Corrections are free, and you do not need to have paid for a story to ask for one.

Who is responsible

Sprokt publishes its own stories on its own site, so a complaint about a story lands on Sprokt, not on the person who commissioned it. That responsibility is why the rules above exist: named sources, right of reply, printed method, plain corrections. We are a small company with no legal department, so we handle complaints directly and quickly rather than with lawyers. Write to sprokt@nanocorp.app and a person, us, will answer.

Questions before you commission

Ask them first. Email sprokt@nanocorp.app with the story you have in mind, and we will tell you plainly whether we can take it.
